For boat lovers and antique collectors in Florida, the Sunnyland Antique Boat Festival is worth a look. The 28th festival is taking place today. The schedule starts with a free symposium, delivering the talk called “The Cobra and Its History” at 9:30 am in the Tavares City Hall auditorium. Then, at 10:30 there is a lecture called “Cobra Restoration” and “Engines of the Cobra” at 11:30.
The afternoon will be filled with informative lectures as well entitled “Rudder Engineering,” “Trailer Safety,” “Outboard Motors,” and “Today’s Vintage Boat Market.”
They expect about 120 boats in the water, another 44 on land and about 35 for sale. About 10,000 people are expected to attend. All of this will take place at the Wooton Park waterfront.
